Carl and I ran some errands to get the necessities for the day. Smokies, hamburgers, chips and salsa among other fun goodies. My favourite purchase of the day was something I had looked all over town for.... some great plastic margarita glasses! A stop of a the beer store and a few stops looking for frozen limeade and we were on our way home to enjoy the backyard patio.
I made my guacamole which I have been making a ton lately while Carl got everything else organized.. even a set of bocce balls.
I finally took my first try at making a margarita! I had some guidance from Mom who makes a great margarita, but had to improvise a bit. Mom uses melon liquor, while I used grand marnier because someone had given it to Carl when he moved into his new house. Before I even thought of margaritas, we had no idea what to do with grand marnier... and now I'm pretty sure it won't be lasting long!
My Margarita Recipe - just a guide.. I would taste and readjust what was necessary..
2 oz tequila
1 oz grand marnier
1 spoonful of frozen limeade
1 tbsp lime juice
some water
ice
either blend or shake, whatever your preference. We tried one of each!
Friends, bbq, music and drinking from plastic margarita glasses on a patio in the sun ... doesn't get much better than that!
